Axel Pawlik
Axel Pawlik is the Managing Director of the RIPE Network Co-ordination
Centre (RIPE NCC).
Axel graduated from the University of Dortmund, Germany, with a Masters
Degree in Computer Science. He was later employed at the University of
Dortmund from 1985 to 1992, where he contributed to the establishment of
UNIX networking as a publicly available service in Germany. This
institution introduced Internet access services to the business
community and general public.
From 1987-1991, he also served as a member of the Board of the German
Unix Users Group (GUUG).
Understanding the demand for a commercial operation to provide
Internet services, Axel founded EUnet Deutschland GmbH in 1992 and
commercialised the operation. Under his leadership, EUnet Deutschland
GmbH became the market leader in Germany and one of the strongest EUnet
networks in Europe.
Paul Rendek
Paul Rendek is the RIPE Network Co-ordination Centre's (RIPE NCC) Head of External Relations and Communications.
He is responsible for developing and maintaining the RIPE NCC's public
relations activities and for the organisation's internal and external
communications. He also oversees outreach activities, such as RIPE
Meetings, Regional Meetings and Roundtable Meetings, for the RIPE NCC
members, the RIPE community and governments and regulators. Together
with the RIPE NCC's Senior Management Team, Paul also helps to develop
the organisational strategies to ensure that the RIPE NCC continues to
meet the membership's needs.
Paul was also one of the founders of the Middle East Network Operators
Group (MENOG), and as part of the MENOG Coordination Team, he helped
to establish the group's ongoing success by coordinating its first
meeting, MENOG 1, held in Bahrain in April 2007. He is still actively
involved in MENOG.
As a long time employee of the RIPE NCC, Paul has held several positions in the organisation. Previous to his employment at the RIPE NCC, his time at EUnet, the first pan-european commercial Internet Service Provider in Europe and the Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association (TERENA) have ensured that he has been a well-known face in the Internet industry since 1993.

Daniel Karrenberg
Daniel Karrenberg is Chief Scientist of the RIPE NCC (www.ripe.net), an
independent not-for-profit organisation that acts as the Regional Internet Registry and supports the infrastructure
of the Internet for Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia. He is a well-known figure in
the global Internet community and was Chair of the Internet Society's
(ISOC) Board of Trustees. Daniel was instrumental in establishing the
global RIR structure and is an active contributor to international
discussions around Internet governance.
Expertise: Daniel can talk about almost anything the RIPE NCC is connected with.
Andrew de la Haye
Andrew de la Haye is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the RIPE
Network Co-ordination Centre (RIPE NCC).
Andrew graduated from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, with
Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Strategic Management &
Organisation.
Before joining the RIPE NCC in 2006, Andrew was employed at KPMG
Strategy Consulting and Accenture Consulting for over 10 years. His main fields of expertise have been Customer Relationship Management,
Business Process Improvement and IT (organisational) strategy.
As COO, his main responsibilities are managing the organisation's core
operations (Member Services) and supporting software development. In
addition, he is also involved in various external activities such as
certification, RIPE policy development, intra RIR cooperation and
external representation.
Andrew is a driving force behind the development of the RIPE NCC's
long-term strategy to ensure that it continues to meet the membership’s
needs and is prepared for future developments.
Expertise: Membership development, IP resource distribution/development,
certification, RIPE policy development, training and software
development processes.
Andrei Robachevsky
Andrei Robachevsky is CTO of the RIPE NCC since 2002 and is responsible for the development of company’s IT strategy, external and internal IT
services and management of engineering departments: IT Operations, DNS,
Information Services and Database groups. Andrei was responsible for the
deployment of DNSSEC for the reverse DNS tree and deployment of anycast
instances of K-root DNS server.
He is also involved in various external activities. He is Chair of the
NRO Engineering Coordination Group (ECG) responsible for various
technical inter-RIR activities and projects. He is an active member of
the root server operators group and RSSAC. He is also actively following
RIPE and IETF activities.
Expertise: DNS Root Server System, Routing Security, Certification of INR,
IPv6 deployment and coexistence with IPv4.
Jochem de Ruig
Jochem de Ruig is the RIPE Network Co-ordination Centre's (RIPE NCC)
Chief Financial Officer. and is responsible for developing and
maintaining the RIPE NCC's financial and administrative activities. He
also oversees all of the RIPE NCC legal activities, including liaison
with lawyers, Law Enforcement and National Prosecutors.
Together with the RIPE NCC's Senior Management Team, Jochem also
develops organisational strategies to ensure that the RIPE NCC continues
to meet the membership's needs.
Jochem has worked at the RIPE NCC since 2002. His initial focus was to
stabilise and enhance the RIPE NCC’s financial position and, as of 2006,
Jochem has overseen all of the RIPE NCC's legal affairs. Jochem
previously worked as Price Analyst and Marketing Controller at TNT Post
International and as Controller at Sony International.

James Aldridge
James Aldridge is a senior systems and network engineer in the RIPE NCC's IT department. He joined the RIPE NCC in 2002 and worked in the New Projects department for two years supporting the Routing Information Service (RIS) and Test Traffic Measurement (TTM) projects before moving to the IT Department in 2004.
Prior to joining the RIPE NCC, James worked for EUnet (which later became KPNQwest) for ten years, first in the UK and from 1995 in The Netherlands. At different times in that period he (co-chaired the Anti-Spam and Local IR working groups in RIPE.
James has a BSc in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent at Canterbury.

Alex Band
Alex Band has worked as a Trainer at the RIPE NCC since 2006. He is
responsible for writing, maintaining and delivering the Local Internet
Registry, Routing Registry and IPv6 training courses. He travels
frequently to countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and Central
Asia to deliver these courses. Alex also gives regular presentations
on Resource Certification, Internet number resource allocation and
assignment statistics and the Routing Registry at worldwide industry
events.

Tim Bruijnzeels
Tim Bruijnzeels has worked in the RIPE NCC's Business Application Department since December 2006. In his current roles as a Senior Java Developer he is involved in maintaining and developing various software components that support the RIPE NCC's internal processes and provide services to RIPE NCC members. These services include the LIR Portal, resource certification beta, new member signup and meeting registration.
Prior to joining the RIPE NCC, Tim worked for six years as a software/system engineer in the not-for-profit sector (2001-2004 University of Nijmegen, 2004-2006 Greenpeace International). He has an MSc in Biology from the university of Nijmegen.

Chris Buckridge
Chris Buckridge has worked in the Regional Internet Registry (RIR)
system for the past six years. Starting at APNIC in 2003, he relocated
to Amsterdam in 2006 and currently works in the Communications
Department of the RIPE NCC, RIR for Europe, the Middle East and parts
of Central Asia. His role at the RIPE NCC has focused on research and
documentation, and he has been heavily involved in the promotion of
IPv6 adoption and Internet governance issues.

Anand Buddhdev
Anand Buddhdev holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester. He has many years of experience in system engineering, which he gained while working at Internet service providers in Kenya.
He joined the RIPE NCC in 2006, and is currently the manager of the DNS Services Department. In this role, he is responsible for all the internal and external services that this department provides, including operations of K-root, reverse DNS, ENUM, DNSSEC for all the RIPE NCC's DNS zones, secondary DNS for some ccTLDs and an AS112 node.

Ferenc Csorba
Ferenc Csorba has worked as a trainer at the RIPE NCC since 2001, and is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Ferenc has a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Technology in Vienna. He helps develop RIPE NCC Training Courses, and he also travels frequently throughout Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia to deliver these training courses.
Ferenc speaks English, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, French, Hungarian and intermediate level Russian.

Mark Dranse
Mark Dranse joined the RIPE NCC as manager of the newly formed Information Services Department at the start of January 2007. He is responsible for the development and support of the RIPE NCC's Test Traffic Measurement (TTM), Routing Information Service (RIS), DNS Monitoring (DNSMON) and Hostcount services.
For eight years prior to joining the RIPE NCC, Mark held various technical managerial roles with UK-based RIPE NCC member Demon Internet (THUS PLC) where he was responsible for domain names, IP addressing and Internet circuit provisioning.

Robert Kisteleki
Robert Kisteleki has been working on developing web-based e-commerce solutions and portals since 1994. From there his focus gradually shifted to information security. He has been part of a core team that built a public certification authority from the ground up in Hungary; he later became the manager of these services.
He joined the RIPE NCC in 2006 as a System Architect and he became the manager of the Science Group in 2008. In this role, he leads a dedicated team of thinkers to support the RIPE community by providing network research, data analysis and prototype tool development.
He has an MSc degree as a Program Designer Mathematician from the Eotvos Lorand University (ELTE) in Budapest, and a BSc in Management. He also holds CISSP and GSEC certifications.

Mirjam Kühne
Mirjam Kühne has joined the RIPE NCC in 2009 to set up RIPE Labs and to act as the Community Builder for RIPE Labs.
Prior to joining the RIPE NCC, Mirjam worked at ISOC for six years as Senior Program Manager. She was responsible for developing and organising technical workshops in developing countries and establishing and maintaining relationships with partner organisations and regional and local operators communities. Mirjam also created the IETF Journal, a publication reporting from developments at the IETF, and had the editorial oversight over this publication for the last five years.
Before taking the job at ISOC, Mirjam worked for nine years at the RIPE NCC, as part of the senior management and participated in the organisation’s strategic and financial planning. She was responsible for External Relations and represented the organisation on an international level. Before that Mirjam was responsible for developing and managing membership as well as public services. She started her career at the RIPE NCC by reviewing and processing member’s IP address requests requiring a deep understanding of network operations and technology.
Mirjam has obtained a Masters of Computer Science at the Technical University Berlin, Germany.

Xavier le Bris
Xavier le Bris joined the RIPE NCC in 2002 as an IP Resource Analyst in the Registration Services Department. He also delivers RIPE NCC Training Courses to Local Internet Registries.

Vesna Manojlovic
Vesna Manojlovic joined the RIPE NCC as a trainer in 1999. In 2003, she took responsibility for Advanced Courses, developing and delivering advanced courses, such as RPSL, Routing Registry, DNSSEC, and IPv6.
Vesna also takes part in and gives presentations at many conferences and technical workshops.
She co-authored the RIPE Document "RIPE Database User Manual", many FAQs and training documentation.
Vesna received a BS in Computer Science and Informatics from School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade. Vesna has three children.

Arno Meulenkamp
Arno Meulenkamp has worked as a Technical Advisor and Trainer at the
RIPE NCC since 2001, and is based
in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Arno studied Economics at the University of Amsterdam and
Communications at the University of Nijmegen. From 1997 - 2001 he
worked for Hewlett Packard, fulfilling several different functions.
In his role as Technical Advisor and Trainer, Arno ensures that the
RIPE NCC's Training Services Department is up-to-date with the latest Internet and
technological developments. He also travels frequently to countries
throughout Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia to deliver RIPE
NCC Training Courses. Arno also gives regular presentations on
Internet number resource allocation and assignment statistics, the
Routing Registry and DNS Security (DNSSEC) at worldwide industry
events.

Oleg Muravskiy
Oleg Muravskiy is a Senior Software Engineer at the RIPE NCC. He is responsible for setting vision, securing stability, maintainability and consistency of the RIPE NCC software landscape. During his seven years at the NCC he was involved in numerous projects related to member-oriented services. His expertise lies in the area of enterprise software architecture.
Before the RIPE NCC Oleg was working in telecom/ISP industry in Ukraine as a software developer. He has a MS in Computer Science from the National Technical University of Ukraine.
Expertise: IPv4 and IPv6, X.509, Regional Internet Registries (RIR) statistics. And generally: RIPE NCC Internet Resources Registry, LIR Portal, RPKI.
Wolfgang Nagele
Wolfgang Nagele is the service manager for k.root-servers.net, one of the 13 Internet root name servers. As such he is responsible for the stable operations and development of the service.
He joined the NCC in 2008 and is also active in the IETF and DNS-OARC working on DNS related topics.

Roland Perry
Roland has a masters degree in Engineering and Management Studies from Cambridge University. His early career was in specialty electronic design and retailing, culminating in overseeing the designs of Europe’s top selling personal computers in the 1980’s. Following a period in technology journalism, he helped launch the UK’s first family-friendly Internet service in 1994, and became interested in the way the law is commonly perceived to apply differently to the online and offline world.
Roland has concentrated on the area of Internet regulation and governance since 1999, first as Director of Public Policy for the London Internet Exchange, before he began working with RIPE NCC in 2005. His role is to assess, and contribute to, the development of global Internet Governance, and promote Enhanced Cooperation with governments, regulators and law enforcement. This has involved organising biannual government roundtables and introducing the RIPE Cooperation Working Group, in addition to helping prepare and deliver the Internet Technical Community’s presence at the first four Internet Governance Forums.
Roland is an active participant in RIPE NCC’s outreach with international organisations such as the European Commission, OECD, ICANN, ITU, Council of Europe, United Nations and regional IGFs, as well as many policing bodies.

Erik Romijn
Erik has worked in the RIPE NCC's Information Services Department since 2007, as software engineer. In this department, he works on several of the RIPE NCC's long-running internet performance monitoring projects, like the Routing Information Service (RIS) and Test Traffic Measurements (TTM).
Before joining the RIPE NCC, Erik received a BICT from the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam.

Franz Schwarzinger
Franz Schwarzinger has been working with RIPE NCC as a Software Engineer since 2007. As part of the Information Services Department he works on support and development of the RIPE NCC's Routing Information Service (RIS), Test Traffic Measurement, DNS Monitoring (DNSMON) and Hostcount services.
Prior to his work at the RIPE NCC, Franz graduated from the University of Applied Science in Vienna and worked on several information technology related projects throughout his studies.

Nathalie Trenaman
Nathalie Trenaman joined the RIPE NCC in 2007 as an IP Resource Analyst in the Registration Services Department. Much of her work is focused on the area of Registration Data Quality (RDQ), and she also delivers the LIR and IPv6 RIPE NCC Training Courses to Local Internet Registries (LIRs).
Prior to joining the RIPE NCC, Nathalie spent eight years working for LIRs, and she now has over ten years' experience in technical roles such as IPv4 and IPv6, DNS, domain names and network engineering.

Henk Uijterwaal
Dr. Henk Uijterwaal (1960) studied experimental physics at Utrecht
University and the University of Amsterdam, both in the Netherlands. In 1992, he obtained a Ph.D. after successfully defending a thesis in the field of High Energy Physics. In the following years, he worked as a research associate at the former Superconducting Super Collider Laboratory in Dallas, USA; the University of Oxford, UK and the Deutsches Electronen Synchrotron DESY in Hamburg, Germany.
In 1997, he switched careers from physics to computing, when he joined the RIPE NCC where he is currently the Senior Project Manager. His works focuses on large technical projects and the development of new services for the membership.
Dr. Uijterwaal has presented his work at numerous conferences to both scientific and technical audiences as well as to the general public. He is a frequent member of technical program committees and discussion panels at Internet-related conferences.
Expertise: Internet measurements, routing, certification, 32-bit AS Numbers, CMM (Quality Control/Management), IT project management, IETF developments relevant to the RIPE community.
Ingrid Wijte
Ingrid Wijte is a Policy Development Officer with the RIPE NCC. She
supports the RIPE Policy Development Process through proposal tracking,
analysing policies and proposals and supporting the RIPE NCC's
implementation of policies and performing outreach activities to promote
RIPE PDP.
Expertise: Policy Development Process, Internet Policy and Governance,
Regional Internet Registry, IPv4 (ERX), IPv6
Filiz Yilmaz
Filiz Yilmaz is responsible for the activities of the Policy Development Office. The office supports the RIPE Policy Development Process through proposal tracking, analysing policies and proposals, reporting findings internally and externally, supporting the RIPE NCC's implementation of policies and performing outreach activities to promote RIPE PDP.
Within her previous position in the RIPE NCC, she was involved with operational aspects of IP address and AS Number resource registration and management and delivering training courses to Local Internet Registries including DNS Security (DNSSEC) and the Routing Registry. Filiz received her BSc in Mathematics and then her MSc in Cognitive Science from the Middle East Technical University where she then also went on to work for the Computer Centre and Informatics Institute holding technical and research positions. She joined the RIPE NCC in 2001.
