Quick Tips for IP and AS Requests

by RIPE NCC IP Resource Analysts (IPRAs)

RIPE NCC IPRAs look for specific details on every request. To avoid delaying an approval, use these tips to double check your request before submitting it to RIPE NCC.

Simple steps for requesting Internet resources from the RIPE NCC:

There are two ways of requesting Internet resources (address space and AS Numbers) from the RIPE NCC:

  1. Use the LIR Portal to request resources
  2. E-mail a request to the RIPE NCC

Both methods require RIPE NCC membership. In addition, the LIR Portal requires a user name and password.

E-mail an IPv4 (PA) request to the RIPE NCC:

Please use the latest versions of the referenced documents!

  1. Copy the "Provider Aggregatable (PA) Assignment Request Form" to your e-mail editor.
  2. Print out the " Supporting Notes for the Provider Aggregatable (PA) Assignment Request Form" and use it as a guide for filling out your" Provider Aggregatable (PA) Assignment Request Form".
  3. Check through the following tips (1 - 8) before submitting the request to <hostmaster@ripe.net>

LIR Training Courses

The RIPE NCC provides regular LIR Training Courses in order to help the members with their Internet resources administration. The RIPE NCC strongly recommends these courses to any LIR contacts dealing with RIPE NCC Internet resources administration.

Admission to a training course is included in the set-up fee for every new Local Internet Registry. See also new LIR information.

Course outline, course materials and forthcoming courses are listed at LIR Training Courses.
